When I started writing this book back in 2013 I knew that Astrology was a powerful tool. I had seen areas of my life transform and received clarity through some of the most challenging times of my life. I knew this wasn't just some fluffy party trick or something to distract us from the reality of life on Earth. I knew it was a way to bridge the physical and non physical aspects of life.
But, I wasn't brave enough to connect the dots. I wasn't ready to make a claim that having an awareness of these cycles really can make a huge difference in our lives and the collective. I felt like my job was to keep it abstract and let those listening make their own judgements. I didn't want to spell it out for anyone; although it was all very clear to me how connected we are to these unfolding patterns.
In Analogies, Energies & Celestial Bodies I've found the courage to go there. I'm really not worried about convincing or...
I used to spend a lot of time focusing on the numbers around me. When I would see number sequences here and there I'd always imagine as if it was a little high five from the Universe, encouraging me that I am on the right path.
My favourite number to see has always been 777, and the book, Angel Number's shares that it's symbolism means:
“You are definitely on the right path in every area of your life. Stay balance and aware so that you can continue moving forward on this illuminated path”
When I got to choose my phone number I included 777. During moments of confusion and uncertainty I would see the number and feel a shift in my energy. However, Life changes and our focus shifts and over the past few years I've found myself not noticing the numbers as much and not really caring too much about them.
I'm release my new book, Analogies, Energies & Celestial Bodies this month and part of the process is to obtain an ISBN number. This is done through a...
I am pretty lucky to have built some powerful connections throughout my life but it always amazes me at the timing of things. Sarah Lloyd, Indigo Soul PR, is not only a friend but is now a key player in the process of sharing Analogies, Energies & Celestial Bodies with the world.
Her new book, Connecting The Dots: Making Magic with the Media - Up level your Brand on your terms, has been nothing short of an answered prayer. Like I’ve shared in a recent post, I am currently planning and embarking on a media tour to share my message: that astrology IS relevant. To say I was overwhelmed by this new endeavour into PR is an understatement, but in true magical fashion Sarah’s book has lifted my fears and ignited my passion.
This book is for anyone and everyone. Sarah shares her story and her vast expanse of knowledge. She offers reflections and prompts that have been games changing for me. I now see myself and my work through a whole new lens. After reading...
Today isn't so much of a story as an update...
I've not received the Final Cover and Interior Design of the book. Myself and editor are doing a final proofread and then it will officially be ready for the world!
The way this publishing process has flowed with the help of my editor and designer has been pure magic!
Do you ever feel like the more you push something, the less it works out? That’s a huge life lesson for me and as someone with lots of ambition and drive, letting go of control is not easy. I’m working on it though, and I feel like the process of publishing this book has taught me how a “less is more” attitude can be success’ best friend.
I have been writing manuscripts, hoping to publish a book for the past 8 years. Everytime I get frustrated, give up or derail and run away. I’ve participated in several Nanowrimo’s (National Write a Novel Month) but never completed the goal of writing 50,000 words in the month of November.
This past November I decided to approach Nanowrimo just for fun. I was going to write a fiction story inspired by zodiac archetypes and themes, but not specific to astrology. Not only did I “win” and complete 50,000 words I had so much fun in the process. The story was just something I was doing...
I can't really tell you how many times I have started and stopped a writing project. I have a handful of outlines, drafts, book proposals and half written manuscripts. For a long time that weighed on me. It was a looming reminded of failure, bringing my focus to what I had not done.
Today I see it differently, instead of seeing what I haven't done, I see all that I have. Instead of thinking, wow it took me this long, I look back over the entire journey.
For my upcoming book, Analogies, Energies & Celestial Bodies, I wanted to find some poetic words to open. I was looking through quotes from other people, searching for the right one. When I thought about the pages and pages of journals sitting in my closet.
As I started to look through them all I realize how much I have written, even the words no one will read are still words in the world. Even if I am the only one who gets to experience them, that's still something to celebrate.
So now I see it this way,...
I was working for an organization unrelated to astrology at a conference, it was an energy psychology conference and I was pretty nervous about being around professionals. When I walked into the room the first table I saw setup was an astrologer and the word “MOON” was staring right at me. It was a good sign.
Later in the conference I was talking to this astrologer, we were having an awesome conversation which usually happens when both people are fluent in the language of astrology (another reason why my goal is for everyone to know this language because then we can all talk about it!). He didn’t know much about Lilith, and of course I was pumped to bring her into the mix. When he found out I was writing a book, he said “Lilith is what you have got to write about!”. When I got home her chapter poured out of me, and it really is one of my favourite sections in the book.
In my mind Lilith is the powerful force of creation herself, that’s been...
As I was writing my manuscript I would worry about the editing process. I was nervous that I would 1) not be able to find an editor and 2) that an editor would not “get” where I was coming from.
As someone who likes to be in control it was really uncomfortable to imagine handing over my draft to someone else.
One particular area that I was concerned about was Black Moon Lilith’s. She represents the primal force of creation and when writing her chapter I really “went there”. My fear was that an editor would read this particular section and want to tone it down, when really Lilith’s energy is about cranking it all the way up.
I would always read the acknowledgement sections at the end of books and see authors thanking their editors. I would literally wish to the Universe that I could find this kind of connection with someone. I honestly had no idea where to start or where to look. Luckily, I synchronistically came across The Self Publishing...
